Education

PhD in Hydrology, University of Stuttgart, Germany, November 2006

Master of Technology in Water Resources Development and Management, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, West Bengal, India, May 2002

Research interests:

Surface water hydrology, Climate variability and change, Statistical downscaling method, Analysis of hydrologic extremes, Climate change and ecology

Current projects

  • Hydrologic analysis under climate change in major western US River basins

Data development

  • Development of downscaled climate models data at 1-km spatial resolution to use in a project to assess change effects on tree mortality rates in California's Sierra Nevada
  • Development of high spatial resolution (12-km) downscaled climate models data to use in a project to assess affects of climate change and disturbance on ecosystem carbon in the Rocky Mountains
  • Development of ensemble hydrologic projections from a set of IPCC AR4 General Circulation Model (GCM) for the California-Nevada region. This ensemble simulation consists of 40 members from 16 GCMs, two emission scenarios and two statistical downscaling techniques. The ensemble hydrologic simulations are planned to use for Probabilistic Climate Change projections in California
