Precipitation and temperature data was taken for the CCSM3 model b30.030a run. The data runs from 1870 to 1999 with 365 days each year. The first map shows the global view(all grid points) of the November through April average precipitation.

Data running from November through April was extracted for one northern California grid point. The top 5 percent of days were found. A 9-day window was check and the highest precipitation was taken as the recording of that event. Top 100 precipitation events are marked with blue crosses. The maximum temperature for each of these events in Celsius is denoted on the plot with red circles.

The highest precipitation event was: 99.21 mm occuring on 1929 1 31 with a temperature of: 10.32 C

The lowest precipitation event of the top percentile was: 21.40 mm occuring on 1919 1 17 with a temperature of: 2.26 C

The average over the 684 high precipitation events was: 35.53 mm

The highest temperature of the period was: 23.84 C occuring on 1930 4 30

The lowest temperature of the period was: -18.97 C occuring on 1954 1 15

Below is a map of the average temperature at all global grid points for those top 100 days.
